Counselling for Men

All therapy sessions are done via a secure online web link. This provides you the freedom and ability to attend a session with us without the hassle of driving to an appointment or spending time in a waiting room.

Societal pressures can make men feel uncomfortable about obtaining counselling services. But the reality is that counselling is for anyone and can benefit everyone. Men are human too, and face many challenges in their life. At Nova Rain, we provide men (including gender identifying men) with a safe space to explore other parts of themselves, parts they might not be able to show of themselves in regular everyday life. Some of the areas we work with are general stress and anxiety, depression, relationships, emotional regulation, grief, self esteem and self concept, and trauma including troubling or traumatic experiences during childhood. If you are a man struggling and feeling stuck in your life, you are not alone, trust us. We are here to be a safe, non-judgemental space, help you to work though your own traumatic experiences, unhook from sticky unhelpful thoughts and feelings, and take action in the areas of your life that you desire. Free consultations are available for those ready to begin their journey toward greater emotional stability and well-being.

Tarra Horsfield

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor

I offer a safe, grounded space for men navigating grief, depression, trauma, and the pressure to always “hold it together.” My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Inner Child Work, CBT, and somatic healing to support men in making sense of emotional pain, processing past experiences, and reconnecting with who they truly are—beneath the roles and expectations. Whether you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or disconnected from yourself and others, therapy can help you realign with what matters and begin to move forward with clarity and strength.

Annie Kao

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor

I support men who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally isolated, or caught in the quiet weight of shifting roles, expectations, and unspoken grief. My work is rooted in Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and CBT, offering a space where men can unpack emotional patterns, reflect without judgment, and reconnect with clarity and purpose. Whether you’re managing burnout, struggling with identity, or feeling the pressure to always appear “fine,” therapy can help you better understand your inner world, shift unhelpful patterns, and move forward with intention and self-trust.

Erin Cullinane

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor

I support men who feel weighed down by stress, self-doubt, people pleasing, or the quiet pressure to always be strong and in control. My approach draws on mindfulness, parts work, and person-centred therapy to help you slow down, tune into your inner world, and reconnect with what matters most. In therapy we work to soften self-criticism, explore the patterns that keep you stuck, and create space for clarity, self-trust, and meaningful change. Healing doesn’t mean having it all figured out—it means having room to be human.

Lina Lee

Registered Clinical Counsellor | Canadian Certified Counsellor with CCPA

I provide a calm and compassionate space for men who are struggling with shame, emotional disconnection, or the long-lasting impact of family dynamics and early experiences. Using Compassion-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, I help men explore their emotional world safely, develop self-awareness, and build deeper, healthier relationships. Whether you’re facing inner conflict, past trauma, or navigating identity and life transitions, therapy can help you reclaim your sense of self and move through life with more confidence and clarity.

SHELBY ROGERS THERAPIST

Shelby Rogers

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor (Pending)

I support men who are navigating emotional stress, low mood, self-doubt, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Many carry the weight of expectations to appear strong, but struggle silently with anxiety, shame, or disconnection. In our work together, I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space to explore these experiences and reconnect with your sense of self. Using CBT, DBT, and ACT, we’ll build insight, emotional resilience, and a more authentic path forward—defined by your own values, not outside pressure.
