Counselling for Women

Embracing therapy can be one of the most empowering decisions a woman can make. Women face unique challenges, from balancing personal and professional life to navigating societal expectations. At Nova Rain, we are committed to supporting women (including those who identify as women) by providing a nurturing environment where they can explore their inner selves, beyond the roles they perform in daily life.  Some of the areas we work with are general stress and anxiety, depression, relationships, emotional regulation, fertility, prenatal and postpartum concerns, grief, self esteem and self concept, and trauma including troubling or traumatic experiences during childhood. If you’re a woman feeling overwhelmed or stuck, remember you’re not alone. We offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to process your experiences, free yourself from negative thought patterns and emotions, and take meaningful steps towards the life you aspire to live. Free consultations are available for those ready to begin their journey toward greater emotional stability and well-being.

Tarra Horsfield

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor

I support women who feel emotionally drained—by grief, burnout, depression, or the quiet pressure to hold everything together. My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Inner Child Work, CBT, and somatic practices to help you slow down, tune into your inner world, and reconnect with your values. In therapy, we work to soften self-criticism, uncover what’s driving your emotional patterns, and create space for clarity, self-trust, and meaningful change. Healing doesn’t mean having it all figured out—it means having room to be human.

Annie Kao

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space for women navigating the emotional weight of change—whether it’s in motherhood, relationships, career, or identity. Using Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I support women in reconnecting with themselves through the stories they carry. If you’re feeling emotionally drained, stretched too thin, or unsure of your next step, therapy can be a place to feel seen, reflect with compassion, and begin healing. As a first-generation Taiwanese Canadian, I bring a culturally sensitive lens to support women balancing expectations with their own voice and values. You don’t have to carry it all alone.

Erin Cullinane

BCACC, Registered Clinical Counsellor

I support people who feel weighed down by old patterns, unmet needs, or the effects of childhood wounding that show up in how you relate to yourself and others. My approach draws on mindfulness, parts work, and person centred therapy to help you slow down, tune into your inner world, and reconnect with the parts of you that were never fully heard. In therapy we work to soften self criticism, explore how past experiences shape your present, and create space for clarity, self trust, and meaningful change. Healing does not mean having it all figured out. It means having room to be human.

Lina Lee

I offer a warm and compassionate space for women working through shame, emotional disconnection, and the lingering effects of childhood or attachment wounds. Drawing on Compassion-Focused Therapy, along with Emotion-Focused, Somatic, Narrative, and Internal Family Systems approaches, I help clients build self-compassion, emotional resilience, and a deeper understanding of themselves. Whether you’re facing past trauma, struggling with self-worth, or feeling stuck in life transitions, therapy can be a place to reconnect, heal, and grow.
