Learn more about where Lina’s story began

Lina’s path to becoming a therapist is deeply rooted in her personal journey of resilience and adaptation. As a first-generation South Korean immigrant who has lived in Canada for over twenty years, she knows firsthand the emotional complexities that come with starting over—navigating identity, managing homesickness, and adjusting to life in a new culture. These lived experiences have shaped her compassionate approach to therapy and inspired her dedication to supporting others through life’s challenges.

Lina holds a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with CCPA. Her therapeutic work is grounded in Compassion-Focused Therapy, which reflects her belief in the healing power of self-kindness and emotional resilience. She also integrates techniques from Emotion-Focused, Narrative, Somatic, and Internal Family Systems therapies to meet each client’s unique needs.

Whether supporting someone through anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, or relationship struggles, Lina creates a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can feel truly seen. She has a particular passion for working with international students, professionals, and individuals dealing with attachment injuries—helping them feel grounded during times of transition and inner conflict.
