Meet our founder, Tarra.

Tarra, the founder of Nova Rain Therapy, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Counselling from Adler University. She specializes in offering a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to navigate difficult emotions and align their actions with their values. Her approach is grounded in existential-humanistic principles and incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inner Child Work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. Tarra also focuses on the somatic experiencing (sensations within the body) that body inform and heal various mental health conditions.

Tarra transitioned into counseling after a decade in corporate accounting, bringing a wealth of lived experience to her practice. Her own transformative therapy journey inspires her deep commitment to guiding others. Originally from Spruce Grove, Tarra now lives in Vancouver with her husband and daughter, enjoying the city’s natural beauty and vibrant culture. She is passionate about travel, nature, and the joy of laughter.
