Meet Young

Young is a certified therapist with specialized training in trauma, solution-focused therapy, and relationship dynamics. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and has training in both the Gottman Method and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT). She supports adults working through shame, self-esteem concerns, perfectionism, social anxiety, and low motivation, and provides inner-child and re-parenting work grounded in Attachment Theory and Internal Family Systems. Young also works closely with neurodivergent adults—particularly those who received later-in-life diagnoses of ADD or Autism—offering a space to unmask, understand their experiences, and develop effective regulation strategies.

She brings a culturally informed approach to challenges commonly experienced within Asian communities, including chronic stress, anxiety, and procrastination. In her couples work, she uses EFT and the Gottman Method to help young, multicultural couples strengthen communication and deepen emotional connection. Young is well-suited for adults from multicultural backgrounds, including high-achieving, highly sensitive, and neurodivergent individuals, as well as couples in their 20s and early 30s seeking to build healthier relationship dynamics. She provides a compassionate and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can explore their emotions, heal from past experiences, and cultivate stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

Young lived in Windsor, Ontario as a child, then moved back to South Korea to complete her education. Having experienced growing up in two distinct cultures, she sometimes felt that she existed “between worlds.” As she navigated a career in the global shipping industry for 15 years, working in Seoul and Singapore, Young continued to reflect internally, and in her own personal therapy, on issues of personal identity, self-acceptance, and the meaning of genuine connection with others. As a counsellor, Young draws on her experience of cultural diversity as well as the commonality of human experience across cultures to create a compassionate, open-minded space for clients who have a deep desire to be seen and heard for who they are.
