Art therapy offers a different way of expressing what can feel difficult to put into words. Through creative processes like drawing, painting, or simple visual exploration, it allows you to access emotions, experiences, and parts of yourself that may sit beneath the surface of everyday conversation.

This approach can be especially helpful if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to articulate what you’re going through. Art therapy can support work around anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem, and life transitions, while also helping you build a deeper connection to your inner experience.

You do not need to be artistic or “good at art” to benefit. The focus is not on creating something visually pleasing, but on using the process as a way to explore, understand, and process your internal world.

At Nova Rain, art therapy is offered in an online format. Sessions may include guided prompts or open-ended creative exercises using simple materials you have at home, such as paper and pens, pencils, or paint. You can share your process and reflections in whatever way feels most comfortable, and your therapist will gently guide you in making meaning of what comes up.

Art therapy can be used on its own or alongside talk therapy, depending on your needs. It offers a more intuitive, body-based way of working that can help you move through experiences, not just think about them.

A black and white image of a couple sitting closely together on a gray couch focused on a laptop screen. The woman, with long dark hair, is wearing a cozy green cardigan over a beige top and is pointing at the screen. The man, with a beard and his hair tied in a bun, is wearing a dark green cable-knit sweater and bracelets on his wrist. The room is softly lit, with a floor lamp and decorative pillows adding warmth to the space.

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

I offer art therapy for individuals who want a creative and supportive way to explore their thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences. Art therapy can be especially helpful when words feel hard to find or when you are processing anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity, or life transitions. Through a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, I create space for you to slow down, reflect, and express what’s coming up using both creativity and conversation, helping you build self-understanding, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of grounding.
